Professional Development
Preparing Future Faculty Program, University of Cincinnati
As a student at the University of Cincinnati, I enrolled in a Teaching Effectiveness course as a way of enhancing my professional development as a future faculty member. This course provided hands-on training in syllabus development, the creation and assessment of student learning outcomes, active learning environments, and professional growth. Sample documents prepared during this course may be found in Course Documents.
Union/Membership Affiliations
As a professional stage manager, I have been a proud member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA) since 2008. I have also been a member of Stage Manager's Association (SMA) since 2010. These affiliations have attributed to my professional development, as I offer professional theatrical experience as a reference in the classroom.
Theatrical Conferences and Events
As a theatrical professional, I enjoy attending conferences, seminars and workshops. These include: United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), StageSource, South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC), union workshops and member seminars.
Practical Experience
Each additional experience in the professional industry offers development opportunities. Because theatre is a highly collaborative art form, there is an opportunity to work with numerous directors, designers, performers and technicians. Each theatrical production has its own challenges and offers new learning opportunities.
